Paneer is a fresh cheese that is a common ingredient used in India and in many other nearby countries. Paneer is a fresh cheese slightly reminiscent of ricotta and cottage cheese. It has a milky taste and a wonderful texture.
Paneer is unsalted, so it is quite bland if eaten in its pure form. In Indian cuisine it is used to prepare such popular dishes as Palak Paneer, Shahi Paneer, Paneer Makhani.
